Ariel question...

Featured Replies

Hi all, I rather stupidly cut my OEM ariel down on my VRS.

Mostly because it has scratched the spoiler quite a bit during its time with its previous owner...

Now I can't get much reception.... (obviously...) Looks much better though.

I have read on here that the honda s2000 ariel is a popular mod...

Does it screw into the original mount? Or does the whole thing need replacing

mount and all?? If thats the case then I may as well go with the shark fin look.

Any idea of price for ariel antennae from honda? I can't do my journey home

without my traffic reports as it involves the awful M25. :thumbdwn:

Oddly, I have one that was fitted to my Bora. Again it was one I cut down, but this one worked well enough to hear the traffic reports...

It just has a bigger thread than the hole on my Fabia will accept... So I thought cutting down the original one down again would work.... DOH!

Thanks for the heads up BIG A, Only prob is I don't have a paypal account and the seller doesn't take phone payments....:(

I have the Honda S2000 ariel on my Fabia, reception is ok, still a bit crackly when I go through the hills near to my work, but does not bother me much as I tend to use the CD player more than listen to the radio.

Have you thought of the new Seat Ibiza ariel, it's the same as the fabia one but just a little bit shorter.

HTH.

Ariel is what your little sister plays with.

Another Aerial or antenna to try is the Halfords one, its in 2 pieces so you can have long or short. I have one with VRS stamped on it but it is not the Halfords own brand one. Crap signal on MW but fine on FM.

s2000 aerial looked stupid on my car went for a vw sharan stubby about 3inches long, althoughs does suffer from crackling in built up areas, cds and ipod ftw

Thanks Davy,:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Herein lies the answer!
