Hi Birdwell

What do you want to change your 5w bulbs to?

But what has Xenons got to do with side lights! who ever told you that is telling lies !

But if you want to fit LED's then it will say you have a blown lamp

Unless you buy LED's with resistor packs fitted:

I think we have our wires crossed, I want to replace my sidelights for something to match the oem xenons already fitted. Now when I have changed the bulbs on my older octavia II the easiest way to do that is to completely remove the whole headlight.

But recently I had some work done on the new car by a large crash repair centre which had to remove one headlight. Anyway when I picked the car up everything looked good until later that night when I went out in the car and the xenons were shining only 2 metres in front of the car. Took car back the following day and they said they have to reset the xenons with vag.

So can anyone say whether this is right or wrong please?

Come on guys anyone know the answer?

I have changed my parking lights to LED and main beam to xenon, did remove the headlights completly and did not need to reset the xenons.

You can take the units out and put them back in again, without the need of VAG COM.

Done it a couple of times already (H1 nightbreakers next to the Xenons, W5W philips blue vision instead of the std yellowish thingys).

I took mine out to change the sidelights and indicator bulbs, again no problems.
