Thought i had this odd engine knocking noise now for a few days but only managed to pin it down.

Only happens when the gas pedal is pressed, even slightly, you mainly hear it between 2k to 2.5k revs around 30-40mph (mainly cos the acceleration noise/induction kit or road noise drowns it out otherwise) its a knoking noise i only seem to be able hear it from within the car, drivers side (not had anyone else rev it whilst i listen yet) seems to get faster as revs increase, let off the gas and its fine. Aircon on/off its the same, oil level fine too and car has all its power too.

cambelt and tensioner and rollers was done a few months ago, as was longlife service, but not waterpump it seems.

Any ideas?
