Intercoolers

Featured Replies

First of all guys - great forum. I have been lurking for a while but not posted. I have an Oct 1.8T and have been trying to learn from everyones postings the best way forward with getting a bit more power. It seems that a software change is my first job, but after reading the postings about intercoolers I was after an honest answer from the experienced tuners amongst you which way to go.

After looking on other 1.8T variant forums, they all seem to swear by switching out the OEM units and replacing with front mounted versions. If this is the case, and there seem to be several manufacturers making these for the Octavia, what questions do I need to be asking to choose the right one.

Again thanks for a most informative forum

well if you look down this page you'll see the "group buy for the FMIC" this is all about the new Jabba developed FMIC made buy 'Pro Alloy'

if your looking for a power upgrade then go for the Jabba re-map and Intercooler in one hit, will get the biggest increase in power and torque.

then go on to suspension and ARB's

the slope gets very slippery once you start!!!!

A little bird tells me there is also now a Forge one on sale now.

A few others popping up; ask the software vendor when deciding about the benefits of a fmic.

To my knowledge the following people do FMIC's

Forge

Awesome (APR)

AmD *Twin setup

JBS AutoDesigns

JabbaSports

Allard Motorsports *See below.

Allard Motorsports do a kit aswell, our resident Cannonballer has an Allard Intercooler fitted.

and very good it looks to,looks alot bigger than the Jabba/Pro Alloy one haven't seen any of the others yet.
