Roomster disc problems

Featured Replies

Hi, newbie here.

My 57 plate Roomster 1.4, less than 12,000 miles, has a serious front wobble on hard braking, not nice on the M/way. You can feel the wobble through the steering whilst braking gently at low speed. Two dealers have told me that a disc is 'warped' but both say the discs are out of warranty. Been trying to locate a supplier of replacements, possibly better quality? Seems the car is too new, are the Fabia and Roomster front ends exactly the same? Anyone know where I could get discs from? Is this a straightforward job? Help!

You can get discs from quite a few of the site sponsors as well as your dealer. Discs are regarded as consumable therefore not really under warranty. There also shouldn't be any issue with OEM discs, they are more than up to the job. Sound like you were unlucky :surprised

BTW the hardest thing about replacing the discs is probably jacking the car up taking the wheel off.

Thanks, your comments are comforting. I am a Renault refugee, they tried to charge me £566 for a new handbrake cable, this after £500 for a new instrument panel on a three year old car - sold the car instead, moved to Skoda for its reputation and am very happy with the move - hopefully it has been just bad luck.:)

Also just noticed that you too have a 'Vroomster', this is what the kids call it, last letters of regi are VVM!
