Car 1, Pigeon 0

Featured Replies

Was out yesterday having an enthusiastic drive, and had a pigeon headbutt my car, it lost.

It managed to crack the grill surround though, so it got its revenge on me though...

Anyway, on with the pics, you cannot make out that the surround is cracked, but once I had cleaned up the mess, there was a nice crack waiting for me.

Tell me about it, not happy, bloody pigeon, its the second I've hit in the past week, the other one flew away and left no damage, this one on the other hand...

this is what happened when i hit a bird at 160mph in a bentley! i was on elvington airfield on a bentley driving experience!:)

Damn, I hope its cheaper to fix than mine was.

New grille surround + painting + new chrome bit because I managed to snap it whilst trying to remove it from the damaged surround + new badge because my OCD wouldn't let me put it back on with a badge that was going blue.

Probably cost close to £150 in the end :o

Reminds me of the time I ran over a pigeon in Paris. I thought I had got away it until many motorway miles later I found it had stuck to the exhaust pipe and was the source of the horrible smell inside the car! A case of Car 0, Pigeon 1

You have my sympathy, same thing happened to me but it was a large crow!

Hit the head light and slid up n scratched the bonnet, n bent my wiper blade as it rolled up the windscreen and over the car, I nearly crapped my self as I saw it take off towards me on the motorway.

!Respect for the pheasant, that’s one mint pick!

gutted for you mate, i suppose the only saving grace is theres 1 less of these b*starding flying rats around to defecate on your car!

Nice.
Reminds me of when my car tried to eat a pheasant in Scotland back in April

I was telling Sam, the traitor with the bimmer about this pic at our meet tonight. Google Skoda Octavia pheasant then click images. It's the second most popular hit :D

Did you cook it? Do it again, we need stuff to cook at the plough :D

Aim at pigeons, take then out and get as many as you can bloody things!!

Been hit on the motorbike twice this year both in my body! They serve no useful purpose..........

Reminds me the time i was delivering kitchens with my dad down in gatwick. The delivery had not gone to plan and my dad was in a mood so was giving it full throttle down the motorway slip down when a crow appeared from no where and walloped the windscreen. Que a 5 hour wait at the services for a windscreen fitter to come and put a new one in.

Amatures, must get 5 a day in my train, along with Pheasents and Rabbits.

Helps the Kites though, keeps them fed.

Your a train driver?! I'm Structural engineer in the Per Way Dept of Irish Rail... Spend my nights making your fellow (Irish) drivers' journey more comfortable,

and my days trying to not end up like one of your Pigeons....

I remember reading about a guy on a track day with an imprezza that hit a rabbit at 150mph down the straight.

Rabbit went straight thru the bumper and grill and shattered the radiator, and some other odds and sods on the front of the block...

Small World, I was a Plate Layer in the P-way for 9 years.

I did a deer once, took out my wing, bumper, windscreen, both doors and wheel....

A bird decided to have a close up look through my windscreen today but ended up 50 yards behind me.

No damage to car luckily.

Came very close to the same thing once.... nearly shat myself - id only been driving about 2 months!!!

I was driving along early in the morning once, and out of nowhere a tiny wee moor hen flew up the way off the road and pretty much exploded with feathers everywhere! No damage to car but i think the bird had a bit of whiplash and felt the cold afterwards with its lack of feathers hah!

Few years back I was driving round a country road, with raised banks either side, as I rounded a bend, an adult male deer tried to jump from one bank to the other, it didn't make it and fell on the car, well, I kinda hit it, (pug 205 gti) hit the bonnet, smashed the windscreen, bent the roof and smashed the sunroof! It only stunned the deer! Suppose that's what you get for driving a peugeot ....

Glancing hits on pigeons at 50mph are really quite spectacular. Enormous cloud of feathers trailing down the road behind.

Driving with my dad when younger playing the game pretending bridges are rollercoasters. Holding my stomach every time. Came over one bridge, and met what must have been a meeting for rabbits. About 12 or more got scooped up by the front of his escort. Then put blood red racing stripes all over it like some sort of BMW art car job. Still remember that day like yesterday. My dad going into the garage to get tokens for the jetwash whilst all customers and staff gave him very strange looks...

Blooming animals! We pay the road tax not them! ;)
