Done a quick search and can't find the answer yet I'm sure I've seen it around before?

My 1.9TDI Furby is difficult to fill up. I have to spend ages maneuvering the fuel pump pressing down and moving it around until it 'engages'. Only had a 1.2 6 year old polo previously but I never had any such trouble! It can take me up to a minute sometimes to get fuel pumping so I'm hoping someone can advise me that a particular part is faulty? ..

Only thing I can suggest is not to push the nozzle all the way in, but no so little that it sprays out obviuosly.

I have the same problem with some pumps, I just assumed it was a dodgy one as its not normally an issue, only sometimes.

Thanks, I do seem to have exhausted every pump position mind...! And its with several pumps, different garages. Perhaps its just a combination of me and the car!

It's probably more to do with the garage you're going to, if they have higher than normal pressure pumps, don't squeeze the trigger full on then it should fill ok.

do a search for "VENTECTOMY" takes longer to tell than do , may help and can't do any harm, also you'll ge t another two gallons in, so less fill ups:)
