Wheel Trims

Featured Replies

I am new here and need a little help with my Skoda Fabia 1 MK2.

I can’t seem to work out how to remove the wheel trims. The image in the book that came with the car is not clear and not helped by the fact in shows a totally different wheel trim then the one found on my car. I have 6x15" Hermes Wheel Trim. I would like to take the front left one off. The tools in the boot seem to make no sense to me at all. I’m only 18 and have been driving this car from new for about 4 months.

if not try this one http://www.grasmere.co.uk/acatalog/info_970.html

no cable ties or bolts. just plastic. confused?!?

If it's anything like other cars with wheel trims I've owned. it should just pull off. You need to give it a good tug though. Make sure you put it back in exactly the same position as your wheel rim will be marked where the trim holders have been positioned. Hope this helps you.

Yup, good hard tug :-) It's easier if you use a cloth to protect your fingers as the holes can be a bit sharp.

Welcome to Briskoda mate, is there not on the crowbar like a flat bit to try to get inbetween the wheel trim to pull it off??

No not that I can see. There is a small metal hoop with a hook on the end (looks too weak to apply any force with). But where this should be used to remove the trim is hard to find. I have pulled at the thing till I am red in the face. I’m going to the dealer today to get a new one. I’m hoping they will be able to remove it for me.

Thank you all for all your help and advice. You have all made me feel most welcome.

Thinking about it now that metal hook is for the removal of the wheel trim I have one in my fabia vRS for some reason??

As others have said I would trying pulling the trim off with your hands.

you were all right, i just pulled real hard and it came off. i have phoned to order a new one, he will phone back when he has got it in stock for me.

Think the hook is for removing the plastic cover that shields the tow hook at the front of the car. There's a screwy in tow hitch thingy with the car jack and spare that you can then put in place to allow the car to be dragged at the front. Gone are the days when you could just lash a rope or chain to just any part of the suspension or chasis!

Ah is that what it's for? I always wondered :-)

change them for some Wolfrace medona 16's :)
