Ipod to 3.5mm Jack Aux not working (Stream)

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I got my ipod to 3.5mm jack cable toda. I plugged it into the Aux Jack in the armrest, selected the Aux on the radio and pressed play on the ipod and no sound:rotz:.

I checked my new cable worked on my Philips sound bar and it worked perfectly. So what next? I set the aux setting at at 1,2 and 3 and still nothing. So would the radio be faulty? Would be nice if they replaced it with one of the facelifted units:rofl:

So any ideas?

Thanks

1) press CD button twice to get AUX input

2) is it a Stream or a Stream MP3 (seems odd to be a stream if it has an Aux)

Hi

Its a stream MP3. The car is 08 august. And the AUX Socket came as standard. I was going to try sort it myself than the hassle of the dealer...

I had the same issue.

Dealer sorted under warranty but basically the cable had come loose/off that conected the socket to the stereo.

Which end came off though I couldn't say. Prob worth taking the AUX socket in the jumbo box off to see if there's anything on the end of it!

I'll take the stereo out this evening and check both ends for a loose connection :-)

OK I checked the AUX connection and I noted the wire colours. I then removed the Stereo and checked for similar wires, which I found! They where connected into the Parrot hands free ISO adaptor. I never thought what they where for. So I connected it into the Parrot connector block attachec to the stereo and its now working :-)

Thanks Guys

look at your headphone jack.

I guess ground is obvious.

the middle one is right.

tip is left.

Also for the plug itself

Tip is left, middle is right, sleeve is ground.

Hope this helps

Mike

the end of the plug is earth, if you plug the 3.5mm into the aux socket and tap the other end on the tip it should make a thud noise, touch the next bit up and it should do the right side and next bit up make a thud sound from the other side.
