thanks guys,it doesnt look bad for 115k does it! i should of took some before pics as i had neglected it a bit recently! my wheels were black from brake dust & it was looking a bit sorry for itself! im not a valeter just a mechanic,it took me all morning,just used auto glym polish & some hard work!

BLACK IS BEST colour for the mk1 then silver coz its easy to keep clean.

I did wonder for a while whether black cars would suffer from higher engine bay temps and more heatsoak than silver or white ones. mode off>

But mainly I bought silver because it's easier to keep clean. And the dealer didn't have them in any other colours!

I remember when i polished my old black MK3 Anniversary years ago with the rotary and spent a full day on it before i sold it. It does look nice once it's done and well worth the effort every now and again......those miles aren't as high as mine though

Sure it will stay lovely and clean - as long as you cover it over and don't use it.

I doubt I'll ever go back to black, yep looks good when you clean it for all of about 5 mins. Just shows every little mark too much for me.
