flies in headlight

Featured Replies

ive got flies in one of my headlights. It was also steaming up and so obviously a seal had broken.

i took it to skoda and they have said they have repaced the seal - but they left the flies in there. Would you have expected them to remove the flies ? Also are they just saying they have replaced the seal - because i was originally told that if the seal had gome the whole unit would need replacing

is it possible to remove the blighters myself by remoing the bulb

thanks

What model of car?

I had a fly in my Fabia headlight. I removed the bulb and put a small tube in connected to my Hoover.

However, the tube kept curling away from the fly. In the end the tube movement flicked the fly to one side and it dropped down into a gap I could see on the edge of the headlight. Made me feel the headlight wasn't sealed.

Ah, sorry mate, never removed a headlight on that model. Only thing I can suggest, is a piece of stiff wire with some double sided tape on the end. Remove bulb, and pick up the offending dead bodies if possible. Take care not to scratch the delicate chroming inside the light.
