Here is some information (with pictures to follow no doubt) of MY05 Seat Ibiza FR TDi Stage 3+.

Now believe it or not, I have no pictures of the car in standard format (well not that I have on photobucket ne way) however im lucky that someone else has pics of theirs, so here is (sorta) my car standard

3.jpg

Here are the most standard looking pictures I have of my car, which id imagine are dated near the end of 2005 beginning of 2006.

43.jpg

40.jpg

37.jpg

46.jpg

32.jpg

At this point, id already colour coded the side strips, got tints all round with a tinted sunstrip, got colour coded headlights, whilst painted the calipers red to match the paint work, de-badged the car, and rebadged it and of course de-badged the front S grill too :) I had also started with some vinyl's as I was prepping the car for a European rally which would take me all across Europe, called (yes uve guessed it!) The British Speedball Rally

Aswell as those bits at the front, I decide 170bhp and it looking nice wasnt enough, it had to sound nice too, so I decided to go for a OEM style exhaust out the back (twin crome albeit slightly larger than standard) and got a Mufferectomy. This is basically a straight pipe from the cat back, it makes any TDi sound alot meaner, and depending on turbo, lots of Owl noises too ;)

I also added lots of diesel soot to the rear, which I find is a useful mod, and to who ever wrote that msg, I will, and did clean it :D

However there was alot to do, so 2006 was going to be a busy year,

Here are some random shots in mid-2006 of mine, with a few friends cars too.

As you can see the spec list, and mods increased with more vinyl been added, including a custom 'FR' vinyl across the rear panels on both sides, a 'Team Diesel' vinyl over the back window (can just make this out) which was our Team name for the Rally, a HUGE S badge on the roof with Seat written underneath (handy when the police helicopters are out looking for you!) whilst I also added some performance this time round with a Custom-Code remap making 170bhp and 280ishlb.ft, some Eibach coilovers and some 312mm brakes off a Audi TT. I can assume at this stange it also had 15mm spacers (looks like it anyway!) It already had the Seat Sport strut brace as standard when I picked up the car!

So for anyone actually reading a NONE SKODA build! A few weeks or so later, I decided to do more, pretty much more of everything....

I had colour coded the fog light area, front valance and rear valance to boot. I also got my hands on sme very rare (you go try and find some!) eye brows for the car, which I think suited it well at this stage in its life, I had also added some more vinyl's including mine, and my co-pilots username's for the rally I was entering later that year. Also added a smaller version of the roof vinyl to each corner of the car. I think the colour coded bits, gave the car a better look over the standard bumpers without having to get the 'new' facelift bumpers or Cupra bumpers, which I dont like the idea of as its a pre-facelift!

I like that - It looks good :D

I think it's because it's different and not a Skoda. I still haven't done a thread on the clio - I'm going to save my time and effort.

I really do doubt that any member wants to read up on it!. I think it's good to see some Seat people on Briskoda -

TBF, I am just cutting and pasting most of this from other sources, but maybe the odd vRS owner will enjoy it on a mods for performance aspect of things :)

I might have to get some snaps of the 1.2 beastie skoda and mix it in with this.. they will never know

I like it. How did you get on in the speedball? Did you do a write-up? Is that the sound of a kitten snuffing it? :D

I think the write up was lost over on SCN many years ago im afriad :(

It was a good laugh, did the Modball (same thing) the year later but havnt been over again since! If you havnt been you NEED to do something like that :) Its a good laugh, and hopefully less trouble than the german issue we had in 2007!

Dont get the kitten snuffing it part, its late and I am retarded! lol

I've been following this one :)

My Mrs. has got a PD130 Sport Ibiza.

It's got a few mods (18"s, 20mm rear spacers, Eibach springs) but she isn't happy with it.

The back end sits too high on the Eibach springs and ride is ROCK hard, so that is something that'll need sorting. Any tips? Money is a bit tight though! :D

She'd love facelift bumpers but they are mega money, so I will have to try and toughen it up in other ways.

Car is looking top mate, keep the updates coming. I wont be racing you if I ever see you, that's for sure!!!

 • 1 year later...

How long u had the rs tuning map for and hows it feeling? I still havent decided who i ahould take my car to get custom mapped.

 • 2 weeks later...

This sounds lovely but I'd personally have no stickers and graphics on it. Keep it a real sleeper so I speak.

Nice spec non the less.

So the end of 2006 and begins 2007, kept the vinyl on from the rally for a good 6 months after (I had it on most of 2006) so was time to take it all off..

I then popped down to Santa Pod raceway : On the way :

n518270200_1852865_1619.jpg

n518270200_1852866_1880.jpg

Down there, as is custom the 1st time you cross the gates of hell, or indeed the track you are meant to do a burn out... :

n518270200_366439_1161.jpg

n518270200_1852867_2352.jpg

Note how the nice Golf driver is waiting for me! Well I then got to race it... :

n518270200_366441_1561.jpg

Wasnt no sweat, was only Jabba's FWD IHI 1.8T which got Fastest FWD car on the day with 330bhp+, but I tashed it....... to 60ft LOL.

Random run :

n518270200_1852872_3530.jpg

Me vs a mate (you can just see his silver rear end ohh eeeerrr!)

n518270200_1852869_2757.jpg

Moments later :

n518270200_1852870_3033.jpg

Again no worries, this time I was against someone who could drive, and with similar power to me (running a stage two *185bhp* but a tad more weight!) I still tashed him LOL.

Then a nice Leon Cupra R well this one was running 275bhp and similar torques... could I beat it? :

n518270200_1852868_2556.jpg

Of course I bloody well could!

n518270200_1852871_3309.jpg

Best time of the day with 160bhp was

1/4 Time = 14.736 @ 93.13mph -

R/T .. 60 Foot .. 330 Foot .. 1/8 Mile .. 1/8 MPH .. 1000 FT .. 1/4 Mile .. 1/4 MPH

0.000 . 2.265 .... 6.173 ...... 9.460 .... 75.370 .... 12.242 .... 14.736 ... 93.130

Which isnt too shabby for a Stage 1 car :)

 • 3 months later...

looks well :) i like all the graphics strangely.

Nice looking car (I'm slightly biased) and actually looks pretty smart with the graphics on.

I'm surprised by the top-speed actually. I've had 138mph (gps) out of mine before and it's stock. I have a feeling this may be to do with your gearbox though? Is yours the later revised (shorter geared) one? What are your revs at 70mph?

Phil

 • Author

Hit the nail on the head, I have the later gearbox so at 2.1k at 70mph rather than 1.9k or so on the longer box! In fairness it takes alot more power to get a few mph top end! Plus I believe your Cordy might actually have a better drag-co than the Ibiza due to the boot which should help top speed alot.

I will update a few more updates tonight :)

I will update a few more updates tonight :)

LOL. My bad... Busy man you see! I promise promise to do a few tonight and also paypal some shinzel for Freedom membership woohoo!!

Basically, wheels whent black and I added a few vinyl's from memory. Oh and if i hadnt done it already I got a full exhaust system.

Went for white wheels, and painted the calipers black ftw.

Oh and sorta did this...

DSC00312.jpg

Between the clutch going on the last thread, the gearbox went when I was down at Santa Pod here is the insides..

24042008316.jpg

http://i32.photobuck...24042008313.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So got a A.T.B diff fitted too whilst it was being fixed...

Then took it up to RS Tuning and got it RR'd after a RS Tuning custom *turbo popping* remap on the standard KKK turbo

Basically it ran 202bhp on a standard turbo, now RS and myself just did this for a giggle, and we didnt expect it to even get me home nevermind 1000's of miles later, and months later! But it did it lasted...... for awhile ;)
