Is there any aircon mechanicals inside the dash?

Featured Replies

Just wondered, as if I am running with no A/C at all now, is there anything inside the dash that could easily be removed? (easily as in, by removing radio / centre dash bit) Just wondering whether there was anything back there that's all. :)

Slighty off topic devon, but did you take out the air-con yaself? how much did it weight in at? Shorter pulley or something?

I have zero dash atm, as you know but id imagine u still want air blowing for the windscreen etc so dont think anything extra can come out in your case matey...

All gone, and measured up & fitted a shorter aux. belt, with the tensioner pushing the "wrong way" but it works fine. A lot of weight saved up front, mainly in the form of the A/C pump. The pipework was just removed as looked unsightly. Now have two holes in the bulkhead where the A/C pipes went into & inside the dashboard, which got me thinking what's behind there that could also come out? Not sure if there's a reservoir or anything like that. Also, whatever comes out must not impede on the general fan circulation system.

OK -= I decided to use some initiative (unlike me eh?! :D) and look on ETKA. Looks to be a whole LOAD of stuff like evaporator housing, heat exchanger, etc, but it looks to work with the regular blower which feeds in the air, so I am not sure what can really come out unfortunately.

Ohh you mean the heater matrix inside?? isnt that used for the coolant too?
