1.6CR Elegance

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Well I picked up my 1.6CR elegance this lunch time.

Spec is std with anth grey metalic paint.

1st - wish I had gotten maxi-dot - nevermind

Car is fab, smooth delivery of power, and v quite.

I've also got a fabia vrs so in comparision it anit got the power, but hey its less hp and a heavier car. But given we have first baby due in 6 weeks it appears to be the dogs danglies - so very impressed thus far.

Its early days and I'll update this thread as a I go. In the mean time I invite any specfic questions for peeps and I'll do my best to answer.

cheers

Do you mean the car or the baby ? :D

lol - the car :P

I'm certainly interested to hear about how you get on with the new motor, Evade.

But in the first instance, I'm intrigued as to how you managed to buy one (and where you sourced it), given that the 1.6 CR engine doesn't even seem to be listed in the current brochure? (Please correct me if I'm wrong!).

I've registered my interest in one of these with my local dealer, but they haven't even got back to me to confirm if I can order one.

It all seems a bit odd...!

Many thanks.

Neil

I'm slightly jealous:thumbup:

I've ordered one as well but I'm not expecting it for another couple of months and as I'm now in a 2.0 PD with 140 BHP I'm wondering how I'll get on with less power. I'm hoping not too bad as I currently have DSG and will be going back to a manual - autos never seem to feel as powerful anyway.

I was hoping it would be smoother and quieter being a newer engine and it looks like that may be the case from what you say. I'm also interested in whether or not it lives up to the promise of fantastic fuel economy as that's the main reason for me going for it.

This car has been in the broshure from the beginning of July.

It is available from "S" models up to "Elegance" models, prices ranging from 14,510 OTR.

Try the Skoda website for an up to date brochure and probably another dealer who's a little more clued up, or interested in some custom.

I would be grateful if you could post a picture of it as I recently ordered a 1.8 Elegance in Anthracite but as of yet, I have not actually seen this colour on a FL Octavia - only on previous model.

Thanks Martin

Have a mooch around on Skoda UK's used car website; most of the cars on there have exterior and interior photos posted and there's a good chance you'll find an anthracite example.

Good idea, found a couple. Thanks.

I am still not sure about the Face-lift, but too late as I have ordered it!

I ordered this back in June - I had to tell the dealer that they were released for sale!!

forced him to check their systems which they found it. Think it had only been available a few days at that time.

Will take some pics on the weekend and post up.

Its not a power car by any stretch, but delivery is smooth and quite compared to the 1.9tdi.

I'm with you on that one; it's definitely a grower rather than love at first sight.

I think it can look a bit weird in photos at certain angles, but much better "in-the-flesh". I don't think you'll be disppointed.

I think the back is a no contest improvement. I still have to get used to the front.

Same with interior. I like the changes to the radio and climate control area, but the jury is still out on the new steering wheel and dial layout.

Yes, I can see it in the brochure now, and to be fair to my dealer, it appears that the CR engine is not available at all in the L & K model, which is the one I would probably go for (and the one I would have indicated to him).

But can anyone clarify what other CR diesel engines are likely to appear in the Octavia range? Specifically, I know there is the 170bhp in the VRS, and this new 105bhp which Evade has just taken delivery of. But am I right in thinking there is going to be another engine between these two - perhaps a CR 140bhp?

If so, does anyone know when that is likely to be available to order?

Many thanks.

Neil

Vdub do a 1.6CR with 138 horses, and this is also specced for the Yeti so would expect it to come to the octy some time soon.

That's a 2.0.

There is also a 2.0CR with 110BHP available in the Yeti.

evade_uk, mind you, once your child will be able to drive the car, you will keep on looking for the keys, because he/she will have taken them to go for a ride... my two sons do it all the time with my keys (of my anthracite grey O2 1.6 tdi, nice aren't they?). I have told them to buy one for themselves. They agreed, and went for a set of new keys...

That's my biggest problem with the new car so far!
