vRS aftermarket exhausts with twin round tips

Featured Replies

Two things bug me about my exhaust the way it looks and the fact its silent :thumbdwn:

So... I'm after a cat back exhaust but I'm after a specific look :o

The twin rounds on this shamelessly stolen pic below are exactly the look that I'm after.

Now I realise that this is a cat back itself but the 2.75" pipework will be wasted on my car as I don't plan to go big power/bigger turbo in the future and its alot of extra cash over the standard 2.5" Milltek for a different tip.

I've emailed for a quote from the local powerflow place but I worry that when I say "I want it to be a noticable improvement with a sporty sound but not boomy or with motorway drone" they hear "I want it loud". I'd feel more confident buying into a known product if that makes sense.

So do I have any other options up to £350? Blueflame and the regular Milltek both have ovals which are nice but just not what I'm after.

Thanks for any help.

you can have that exhaust tip with the blueflame mate the end parts are interchangable and easy to do have both the oval and the twin exit:thumbup:

love the sound of the blueflame

A decent powerflow dealer will make it sound exactly how you want mate.

My local one is sound, popped in on friday and he removed my entire system and bent and wiggled it about on his bending machine for no cost

A full system off him is around £230

Backbox for twins is £140 (asked him that question on friday)

This sounds promising.

So blueflame offer this tip as an option? I've only looked at their products on ebay and they don't seem to give a choice?

Just a bump...

OK so from their website Blue flame offer the Octavia exhaust with either a Fuji or Hockenheim tip?

The page with their tip designs seems to be constantly down so I can't see what either of those looks like. I'm assuming that one is the oval and the other is the twin round?

Just looked on their website and the Hockenheim and Fuji tailpipes are both singe round ones, the Hockenheim looks slightly smaller, is straight cut and has a rounded edge. The Fuji is slash cut with a less rounded edge and looks larger.

buy it with the larger oval pipe and i will swap you for the twin rounds i have:D:thumbup:

I had a cat back powerflow exhaust made for my cougar, cost £450 but was well worth the money and sounded brilliant. They seem to know the noise type quite well. I wanted sporty but not too loud and it sounded lovely. You can see all the tips they have as well so you can decide the best on the car.

I emailed for a quote at my local Powerflow place but they obviously don't want my business as they haven't got in contact.

My main concern with Powerflow is people say that they are great followed by "I took my one back to get it re-aligned and tinkered with and they did it free of charge" TBH Once I get an exhaust fitted it shouldn't need faffing about with

Must be a firefox issue as I just tried it with IE and the images came up. You are right the tailpipe on the Octavia system clearly isn't a Fuji or Hockenheim. FFS, I think I might stick with the stock one :P

Go to ebay and type Octavia 1.8T . It will come up with the blueflame exhaust with oval exit or a stardard looking DTM. Its around £260 and offers you a 100cell sports cat for an extra £370 i think. Not 100% sure on prices but its a good deal. Thats where i got mine from

I have'nt got a videa clip of my 2.75" Miltec, but it does sound fantastic

The only down side is its a bit dear at £830, having said that the quality and fit is very good.

If you fancy a 2 hour drive over to Guisborough I'd be happy to take you out for a spin in mine.

PS. I ran my Miltec for a month befor I got it custom remaped and it sounded great, I was really pleased with it....but it sounded even nicer and louder after the remap.

This is the Piper twin tail system on my car :)

Is that what you are looking for?

  • 2 weeks later...

Just to jump on this as I'm now investigating exhaust possibilities.

All the CAT back exhausts protrude from the rear bumper so on my Elegance will I have to cut out a section of bumper?

Also, which out of all the name brands (Piper, Blueflame, Milltek) is quietest? I don't want to be rattling people's windows when I drive past, but I do want a decent resonance when the right foot goes down :D

And I can't decide on twin tail pipes or large oval

Any help/advice appreciated.

Sound is a very subjective topic.

"One mans noise is another mans music"

I think mine is a nice all round system. Its quiet enough not to bother me when driving normally, but has a nice sporty tone when driving more spiritedly.

Its louder than the Resonated Milltek i took off in favour of this one, but i found the Milltek was just too quiet all the time. The Piper only uses a single motorsport rear silencer and it works very well :)

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards

Garry

I must admit , we have had people put the resonated system on to their car , and they have said it is too quiet

So then they have gone for the non resonated

As Gary said , it is very personal the tastes of exhaust noises

I love the extra bit of burbble that you get with a non resonated

But I dont know if I could live with it.....maybe if I was not doing too may miles

Dont know , they sound good

But each to their own

I love the oval tail pipe myself , but it is my opinion only

 That looks perfect, thanks!

...goes to google for a price :P

EDIT- about the £330 mark it would seem. Going to strike whilst the iron is hot and call a couple of local Piper stockists tomorrow as I currently have a VERY rare thing... SWMBO approval :D

Garry has been a big help and as a result a Piper exhaust with twin round tip is currently on its way to me :D

It will most likely be fitted on Saturday with pics and, if I can find an empty car park, sound clip to follow soon after :D
