Got a new toy at the weekend.....

Featured Replies

but its not working :-(

I was telling my gf last week about the Dension gateway 300 interface for the ipod.

I was saying about the group buy and so on, and that I was going to get one..

Anyways, arrived home on Friday night to find that she had kindly bought me one (I think its a hint if she likes it, then I buy her one in return for her car :-) ) Not complaining as I was getting fed up with CD's !

Installed it yesterday morning, nice and straight forward, but it doesn't work !

Hit the CD button and it just days there is no CDC.

I've got a stream HU, removed the CDC loom and plugged in the one supplied with the

Dension. I've checked all the bits that arrived, and according to the Dension site, its the correct one for my car/HU. However it is a different PN from the one on the thread for the Dension 100/300.

Mine is: GW33VW1,

Thread says: GW33VC1.

Maybe this is a bit of a silly question, but the "test" section of the install refers to the "free black lead" on the Dension loom, I didn't have connector to groud this, so I'm guessing that this needs grounded before the unit will work, and not just to "work safely" as the install guide says...

Any advise would be appreciated..

yup, the black will need grounding if its anything like the original densions as I had the same problem. just find a ground point for it and screw it on.

Thanks for the reply... Got a connector and grounded the unit and it works now.

Have to say, I'm a bit dissapointed as I thought it was meant to show up on the

maxidot display ?

Not sure if mine is not compatable, or if I've been flogged a V1 unit over a V2.

Wonder if the C in the part number represents "CAN"

Mine is: GW33VW1, -- V1 ?

Thread says: GW33VC1. -- V2 ?

Well, just called tech support for Dension UK.

I have been sent the correct unit for my car, but not for one with the Maxidot display.

The GW33VC1 has the can bus interface to send the info to the Maxidot !

Oh well, atleast that clears that one up !
