co2 levels way to high for mot???

Featured Replies

My 1.8t has just failed its mot on the emissions....

Has anyone else had this problem?

Im assuming its one of the many sensors that has failed, but it drives fine with no power loss.....

can anyone advise on witch one has gone, instead of me having to go pay someone to plug it in to a vag COM.

before mot did you drive it hard ??

if you didnt i would advise you to take the car in when hot and having driven it very hard.

should be okay then:thumbup:

maybe the cat's gone? :(

Has it passed before with the Jetex downpipe/cat fitted?

if you have a sports cat, then you will have issues in passing the MOT. My old vRS with its turbo back miltek, barely passed the MOT test, and to get it through it needed to be driven very hard to heat the cat up before the test. If the car was left standing enough to cool down, I would take it on a quick run before just before the appointment to warm the cat up again. The last test it was put through before I sold it, it only just went through.

Is the sports Cat a cell 100 as this can make MOT CO2 a bit of a problem. My old remap (postal jobbie) caused over fueling which caused high readings. (around 1.56)

What are you CO2 readings from the MOT logs.

Needs to be 0.3 or under to pass.

Get VAGCOM to read the lambda sensors also to see if they are working ok.

I have a REVO stage 2 and blueflame turbo back exhaust and she passed very easy after the REVO replaced the postal map.

its passed twice with the jetex downpie and cat in....

It passed last year with all the same mods as his year....

I haven’t done anything to it since last year. The only thing is that it doesn’t get used during the week. Only out in it on weekends.

Ive been told that its probably the lambda sensors will be shot by my local Skoda garage :(. il get it on a vag com to check it.
