I recently got into my wifes Octavia estate and noticed a knocking/rumbling. It was evidentwhen driving in a straight line but was worse when turning left.

I am sure it is the outer CV joint and therfore am proposing to replace the drive shaft (can't be bothered with the mess to repair/replace the joint)

I have replaced the shaft on a peugeot 307 before which to be honest was quite easy.

My question is how easy is it to replace the octavia drive shaft?

The car is a w reg 2l.

hi mate its a lot easier than the pug

Just had a quote for the driveshaft and then for the C.V. joints.

I am having second thoughts and might look at replacing the joint.

Any tips from anyone on doing this?
