The other day, on my way home, I accidentally 'pressed' the volume control on the steering wheel (normally you would turn it). Some bongs sounded and a disembodied female voice started demanding to know who I wanted to call. Eventually I yelled 'Cancel' and she went away.

I looked in the manual for the Columbus unit, and the car manual. Neither make any mention of voice activation. Since then I've played with it a bit more and I'm now able to make it dial numbers simply by pressing the volume control on the steering wheel and then shouting at it. However... there is a 'name' function as well but I have no idea how you set that up.

Anyone out there got any documentation on this undocumented feature, or know anything about it?

I found this out once when calling once of those faceless corporations with a great long list of options, you know say 1 if you want x, say 2 if you want y... I wasn't in a good mood when making this call and I got bored by 4 or 5 so said "...operator..." Transferring you. It wasn'nt on the list though
