I picked up my new Fabia, less than 2 weeks ago, and have only just noticed that the rear door handle doesn't work from the outside, it just makes a loud clunk noise when you pull it, has anyone else had this problem or am I on my own, my dealer seemed to think I was the first to have this problem.

Have you looked at whether the child safety lock is on (look in your manual for the details). Your dealer should have had the common sense to point you in this direction.

The child lock would disable the door handle from inside though.

My wife's Fabia Mk 2 Blueline had the same problem, n/s/r door lock replaced, door wouldn't open from the outside. Common fault I believe, if you give the body a good clout with your clenched fist,next to the handle but not on the door, wheel arch bit, the door should open.............if it's the same door that is??

Funnily enough it is the same door, not really sure i wanna hit the car, got it booked in to have it repaired tomorrow though, so won't be too long without being able to use it.
