Under Bonnet soundproofing

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if you can get some soundproofing for under the bonnet on the Fabia, the holes are all there for a pad to fit and Im guessing the diesels may have them fitted. But my 1.2 doesnt and it would be nice to try and eliminate some of the tapping sound the 1.2 makes... it sounds like somethings trying to escape:rofl:

Oh yes you can. I have in mine.

If it actually helped...............I can´t hear the difference.

Hi, try this post, it gives the part number. The soundproofing includes the clips cant remember how much it was now but it wasnt much. Don't think it makes a great deal of difference to the noise but should help the engine warm quicker and stay warmer in winter, also should stop the paint on the bonnet heating up to much

You will pay more but have a look on the net there are several companies that provide some thick sound proofing. The standard kit is about as thick as the cheapest underlay and as one guy said does nothing.

Hi,

the diesel Fabias do have sound proofing on the underside of the bonnet. So it should be obtainable from any Skoda dealer. But if your 1.2 petrol is that noisy it might be a fault. My one is only noticeable on pulling away, once on the move its OK.
