Wheel PCD ahd hole pattern?

Featured Replies

I'm lead to believe the standard Yeti is supplied with normal road tyres.... great for summer/handling etc, but bad for snow/cold conditions.

My thoughts are since I've got a spare set of 17" Mk5 Golf GTI wheels, 5 bolt pattern, 112mm pcd, I'm considering keeping to fit winter tyres for the new Yeti.

Does the Yeti have same bolt hole pattern and pcd as the Golf?

The bolt pattern etc is the same as on Golf MkV, Octavia II etc. Not sure if the offset / ET is the same though..

The PCD will be 5x112.

Very sensible idea to have 'winter' tyres - not quite sure you have the right style wheels for them but hey, you have the wheels already! Good move.

As it happens I have just bought a set of 18s for my Octavia which, all being well, I will transfer and use on my Yeti (hoping/intending that I will be buying one next year) more as 'sport/performance' wheels and keeping the OE wheels for the winters. ;)

Wouldn't 16" wheels with winter tyres be better than 17" versions with winter tyres?

As mentioned in previous threads the wheel and tyre size are pretty limited if you intend to go the all the way and fit snow chains as well.

16" rims 6J or 7J with 205/55/16 tyres

17" rims 6J with 205/50/17 tyres

So if you have a SE or Elegance the standard wheels are to big (17X7J), the E & S have suitable 16X7J rims, therefore would just need to change the tyre profile from 215/60/16.

In Europe most Snow-monsters are fitted with 16" rims as standard, I assume for the reason of fitting winter tyres etc.

In the dealer accessories catalogue there is the 17X6J 'Flash' alloy wheel for winter tyres, unfortunately not a factory option.
