removing unwanted 6 DC changer unit from VRS

Featured Replies

I have fitted a new Radio Head unit to my wifes VRS and removed the old Symphony unit. I now need to get rid of the old 6 CD changer unit from under the passenger seat as well. I fitted a new Parrot RKI8400, which has phone coonnectivity as well. It's pretty good.

The car is a Limited Edition with leather seats. I have been able to get the front cover off and thats about it. Anybody now if there is an easy way to remove this unit? It's all very tight with not much space down there

regards, Bulleteer:)

non freedom

Undo the four bolts holding the seat runners to the floor and then you can get at the mounting bracket. You will need to get four new ones from your dealer (dirt cheap IIRC) as they are use once items for safety reasons.

They are a weird metric splined drive, but you can use a torx driver if you are careful not to strip them.

Join as a freedom member (only £12.00 for a year or £20.00 for two) and then you can post in the items for sale section, if you are thinking of getting rid of them.

You can join using the clicky in my signature.

The CD changer will be of no use to anyone unless the OP can also remove the associated wiring which is very difficult as its all taped into the cars wiring loom, otherwise you will have to custom manufacture your own loom.

The OP will also be required to join freedom if offered for sale on here otherwise the thread will be edited and posts removed.

Got a mega *******ing for suggesting I sell these items without being a fredom member. Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i didn't realise you had to pay! I have been really busy at work, but will ge round to paying the money and advertising the goods, if I can get the damned thing out (CD Changer). You can buy a wiring loom from Skoda. I will post the part no's when I find where i put them.
