Skoda do make exceedingly good Cars...

Featured Replies

Hi there :)

Just wanted to say pop in, I'm a new Skoda owner (as of yesterday) and I was looking around online for polisging info as there's loads of small swirly scratches everywhere on the 02 Octavia TDi Elegance 5door, (51000k). I can't decide whether to pay for a proffessional machine polish, or try by hand. I'm not really a car person, It's the first car I've ever bought (normally given them by family) so I want to tart it up a bit.. :)

Little bit about me.

I'm just 39, father of 3 boys, live in Exeter, Devon, I run a chain of business's and mostly play online games on the 360 and rarely my ps3. I'm a beta testa for SONY online games, and have been a moderator on oaps.org for years, so I know how hard running an online community is, well done to all those volunteers behind the scenes :)

Got to scrap my Discovery MPi (N-reg) tomorrow, keeping up my record of never selling a car, just scrapping them, but as I only do about 4k miles a year ( I cycle to work), I'm hoping that the TDi will see me right as the reliable, hard working family car that I've been reading about in all the reviews. I don't care a jot about the badge, a bit like my midriff, you stop caring after a while ;)

There's a few questions I need to ask, and you guys look quite friendly

Anyone fancy a cake? Tea's in the pot.....

Kiplin

Welcome!

I'd like a cake, and three sugars please ;)

.especially if you're having a cake too, fatso! :D

"Said the Pot as it called the kettle black" :P

I'm on a diet... so I'm told  ....notice I didn't ask for a cake? :D

Very good of you! Maybe you should have sweetener instead of sugar too? :D

Oooo, well I have sponge fingers, which make gripping the steering wheel quite a challenge, I've never bothered with artificial sweetners, it's like non alcoholic larger, or decaff coffee, what's the point??!

^ I like this guy :D

What, even though he's just bought a diesel??? :P

It's not diesel I have a problem with, it's diesel "performance" cars! As I've said, derv suits some people, just doesn't suit me :)

Welcome.

What does Mr Kipling do in the back of his van?

Fills his tarts with cream :D

welcome

Thanks for the welcome guys, (and gals).. (and guys masquerading as gals..) hell everyone....., I guess the Skoda is such a maligned product, that owners feel a kinship, and start up talking about motors, but find a similar mindset in others, thanks for the welcome :)

Welcome.

Just ignore him... he has a corrupt mind!

Thanks, not sure what that means though.. is it the warming of the plugs at the beginning.. I've never had a diesel before..?

Just means how long it takes to get to temperature I think. Dervs' take longer than petrols, tis all.

Enjoy your new car as well!
