This question is a bit *rse about face to the usual query.

My front bumper & bonnet need re-spraying - severe stone chips from newly gritted road in Ireland, combined with a HGV overtaking at about 60, and some barsteward has scuffed it in a car park.

I can get it done trade for a very good price IF I do the prep work first.

As I need the car daily, I'm wondering if a "standard" Octy front bumper & bonnet will be a straight swap whilst I prep them and get them sprayed. (I can "borrow" standard bits from a local friendly scrapper, but he can't confirm if they are a straight swap)

I know that some folks permanently fit vRS bumpers to standard models, but wondering if the reverse is possible without modification as it will only be for a week or so and I'll have to return the bits.

bonnets are standard throughout and there are no different fixings for the front bumper so both should be fine

I thought VRS's had slightly different front bumpers due to space for intercooler piping etc etc..?? fixing probably the same but may be worth looking a little more into the bumper.

Yea, I hadn't thought about it in that way since I just swapped a non-vrs into a vrs bumber. I had no pipes what so ever :P

Make sure the loan bumper is from a 01 or newer Octavia. Pre 01 bumpers, grilles, and headlights are different to post 2001 models.
