Looking for cheap garage options

Featured Replies

After 15 odd years of having a Golf GTI MK1 sitting in my parents garage ive been told that i have to move it. I want to build a garage out the back of my house but dont have much money. Plan on rebuilding it over the next few years. Had a look online and garages are mad expensive. I can build up to 25 m2.

What are my options?

big shed? How much do you want to spend?

Have a look here on the planning portal website as this places limits on area and height without requiring plannig permission.

Talk to your local council? I rent a garage from the council and its about £8 p/w I think...

Hello.

We have a garage from these guys at the side of our house: Lidget Concrete Garages: Sectional Concrete Garages, Prefabricated Garages, Sheds & Workshops. Sectional Concrete Garage, Workshop & Shed Designs & PreFab Garage Fitting UK.

Not sure how helpful that is with you being in Ireland. I also don't know how much they cost but our house was a definite budget new build so can't have been too expensive!

Depending on your surrounding area you could get a nice timber framed thing...

You'll have to check how big you can go without needing planning?

Any good at brick work? If youy want a pitched roof that costs a bit, doors can also be expensive. The walls don't cost that much to do if your able to do a lot of the work yourself. If you can't brick-lay you could offer to labour for a builder to save costs.

Some people near us have a Minor 1000 sitting under a common-or-garden gazebo...
