Release bearing whine, OK to drive?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

The clutch release bearing has decided to start whining in my dads TDi 110. She is still 100% to drive with no gear selection problems and no other noises apart from the whining when the clutch is depressed.

My question is will she still be OK to drive as she is? Will it have any knock on effect to either clutch or gearbox?

Its just dad is considering trading her in in the springtime and obviously doesnt want the expense or hassle of having the box pulled apart.

Thanks for any responses! :D
