FL VRS Best price Internet or dealer

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

First time on site and still figuring out how it works so go easy with me!.

My question(s) are,

Has anyone actually dealt with Drive the deal and taken delivery of a car through them, If so how do you rate them.

I'm looking to order a

Octavia VRS 2.0TFSI DSG Estate, Black

Sunset Glass

Full Leather

MFSW with bluetooth

Heated Seats

Rear Parking Sensors

Silver Roof Rails

Light Assist/Auto Windscreen Wipers/Dimming Mirror

DTD price £18,562, this was pre price increase so will have to add the increase obviously so should be around 19K.

2nd Question

Has anyone used a DTD quote at a local dealer and got same price, if so which dealer. I'm based in Leeds but will travel anywhere for the right price.

Thanks

I went with DtD, did'nt want to really but could not find any dealer in Surrey who wanted to deal, just got fobbed off. I actually visted them with a printout from DtD and a grand in cash! But still they just promised to phone back the next day with a price but never did. The only price was list, which NOBODY in their right mind pays!

I found DtD to be friendly and efficient, but as usual, once they have your deposit they don't reply to e-mails. So make sure you ask all your questions before coughing up, but you do get the best price in general. I doubt many dealers will match the price, if they can't then go with DtD as at least you know your getting the best deal.

My car is very similar spec to yours, but would suggest going for front sensors as well, only a few 100 more. Oh, and you forgot the spare wheel!

Thanks for that.

What's the procedure with DtD and what do I need to be asking them.

Any queries you might have about spec, VAT, finance or the like. You spec it, pay deposit, dealer phones you in a couple of days to confirm. Then get reciept for deposit then sit back and wait. I am currently doing the waiting!

how much deposit?.

Sorry forgot to ask, Who was the dealer they linked you up with.?

Cheers

I think DTD use Marlborough of Isleworth for Skodas

Check DTD site for deposit

Deposit is 10% of the total price.

Did you manage get your order in before the price rise?

All Octavias have gone up £455 from 1st October

I did the DTD quote thing with the local Mazda dealer (yes I know - slightly off thread -but proves it can be done !)

After the initial laughing in my face...two hours later we had the same deal !

It's worth a try, you've nought to lose.

Good luck

P.s I'll be doing the same again, if we ever buy another new car !

I recently ordered via DtD. Octavia CR vRS DSG. All in price of £22k+ and DtD quoted me £18,400 - so about a £4k saving.

Marlboro' Skoda called me the following day. £1500 deposit on credit card (would have been less but I had a numbers of options which pushes up the deposit).

Like another on this page, I'm in waiting mode between order and delivery. No problems so far.

Hi, Yes i ordered it on Tues 29th sept, so pre price increase.

Went to local dealer today and after much of a performance got quoted the basic OTR price minus 15% (Skodas Offer)!. Looking back I think he got his figures wrong and it's now cost him the deal.

Rang DtD this afternoon to clarify some points and the guy basically didn't give a ****, couldn't give me a price including the Skoda increase, stated I wouldn't get it this year and hence wouldn't give any guarentees about price fluctuation.

Bit p****d off by this time but got in from work and checked this thread.

Big smiles!!!!!

Noted Tisca's response re the dealer in Mansfield, rang the guy there (Jeremy) and within 45 minutes he rang me back, matched DtD price, and guarenteed the order price regardless of when it arrives (personally 2010 suits me better).

He's faxing the order form to me tomorrow with the added written price guarentee included on it (always best to have it in writing) before I commit or give deposit. Saved £4000, can't argue with that !!!

Obviously this price includes the Skoda price increase but you can't win em all.

Will keep you updated.

Big thanks to Tisca

Hi pg220,

Glad you got sorted at Rainworth Skoda Mansfield & my post

was of help . Jeremy is OK.

Congratulations, it will be a long wait for all of us who have recently ordered VRS's

Like you I managed to get a written guarantee that the price would be fixed regardless of delivery date

Quick update,

Got the order form from the dealer in Mansfield and they are even standing the VAT increase in January (saves me another £500 and I get 2010 car).

Also got a response from Marlborough Skoda (M25 area) and they also matched DtD but didn't offer to stand the VAT increase. Didn't push them as I'm happy with Rainworth deal.

Anyone looking for a spotless A4 Avant S- line TDI, 2007. 25,000mls? :D
