Engine bay detailing

Featured Replies

I have noticed that a number of Octy's pictured have black caps covering the top of the front suspension mounts.

My car doesn't have them - are they meant to be fitted as standard or do they have to be sourced from elsewhere?

Part nos. or further information would be much appreciated!

Many thanks in advance :)

They're standard. Monkeyboy's car even has shiny ally ones...

depends exactly what you mean here. as standard the car should have black rubbers on the top mounts but a few of us have gone for after market caps that screw onto the top. mine are forge items in polished alluminium. i also have the forge oil cap, expansion bottle cap, neuspeed power sterring cap and washer bottle cap also from neuspeed.

monkeyboy also sold me a set of the milotec bonnet lifters.

i havent gone as far as a carbon engine cover yet though.

IIRC those ally caps are about 30 smackers each though ... :(

Mine doesn't currently have any! :( and it is only 3 weeks old this Thursday!

Bling or otherwise - methinks I ought to have a word with my local friendly Skoda dealer!

They must have been removed during its PDI and not replaced?!

Skodacious, your car probably never had any fitted, they just missed it on PDi, to be fair to the dealer though it wouldnt suprise me if the deleated them, we never find out until someone notices or complains.

Nigel, where did you get the Neuspeed washer bottle cap? I think it should fit the Fabia and would look cool, cheers.

Awesome gti sell them including the power steering cap. the washer bottle cap replaces the OE one completely, the others use grub screws to fix onto the OE caps.

If you go here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/t15581-fao-awesome-gti-chap.html i started a thread asking for the p/n's and costs, they were listed by awesomeade.

soon as i get the new indusction kit and bonnet lifters fitted (hopefully this weekend) i'll put a pic up.

My car is 3 months old and has never had any, come to think of it the brother in laws car which is 18months old, I think, hasn't got any either. Perhaps they were deleted on later models to save money :D
