best vrs suspension ?

Featured Replies

If i decide to keep my car i was thinkin about putting new suspension on it, springs and dampers . Having 19inch alloys with 235/35/19 tyres. What is the best suspension to buy ?

19" wheels look to big on the octy mk1, 18" suit the design and arches much better. On my old vRS I had KW V2 coilover suspension, and the handling for me was excellent.

235/35 x19 tyres are like rubber bands and will affect the handling quiet badly and could bend and buckle the wheel easily on our UK roads.

 havent 235 tyres got a high risk of rubbing?

ive got kw coilies and ive been happy with them ever since:jumpsmile

only the v1s but had no probs

im not going to say too much cos i can see this whole suspension thing snowballing

same old same old,

not to be be mean, :( set your price and go from there, otherwise you will have lots of things along the line of

V3s are the only way and everything else sucks

i had the wodge of cash i had, i made the choice, and ive been happy

but sets your budget mate then ask  if you can afford v2 and fancy the extra adjustment go 2s  if you can wip out a wedge for v3s :D job done :thumbup:

theres weitecs too thats worth a peek, they are getting more popular ;)

hope ive only been half useless  or maybe semi handy?

goodluck :)

The fact that you have 19" whels already means you will need to consider your choice as you probably get a lot of feedback through the lower profiles already.

Sooooo many threads on this covering the same thing so you should find some details quite quickly searching.

You don't have a lot of choice on the MK1 VRS.

Either a shock and spring set like Koni FSD's and H&R Springs giving very good ride and more or less standard ride height (approx 15mm lower) or a coilover kit like tried and tested Weitec hicon GT's or Spax being the middle of the road for cost and very good ride again or KW at the high end of the market giving damper adjustment as well as spring height for KV3's.

Yep Ebay and cheap ones

You will not see many for the VRS. You will for the standard Octy but these should not be fitted to the VRS.

The Weitec Hicon GT's and the KW V1's are always popular choices.
