225/45/17 tyre pressue.

Featured Replies

Guys my first question!

I have just replaced all my tyres with Eagle F1 asymetrics? size 225/45/17.

Using the pressure quoted in the fuel cap, 29/30psi? they seem really low. In fact i pumped them upto 35 psi and they felt so much better.

What pressures should i be using with 225/45/17?

Kind regards

Neil.

Im running Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas & I always stick with 34 all round on mine (unless i got a heavy load in the boot)

I too felt that 30psi was a bit low and the car generally felt better on 34 all round.

Oh and my Tyres are 225/45/17 :)

I've got the same tyres and am still trying to decide what's best. I'd been running 34 on the rear and 32 on the front for a while. For the last few weeks I've changed to 32 rear and 30 front and it feels a bit sluggish all round. I reckon 35 feels a tad crashy, but I have to transport two sleepy little girls on a regular basis and silence is golden on those long journeys.;)

Em, no Octy 1 had 225s as standard; the filler cap pressures will be for 205s.

I'd start with the book pressures, and adjust them if I saw an under or over-inflation wear pattern developing.
