Whiteline Front Wishbone Rear Bushes - Fabia 6Y 01/00> - £56.50 : The premiere online VAG performance, tuning and suspension specialists - Bilstein Suspension / Eibach Suspension / Forge Motorsport / H&R Suspension / JOM Tuning / Koni Suspension / KW

They seem to allow a smidgeon of camber adjustment. Click to view the enlarged image.

And have a look at this...

Anyone running these in preference to the Cupra ones? If so, are they any easier to fit?

J.

bloody ell, why couldnt they have released these a few weeks ago !

think they've been around for a while... that videos been posted in 3-4 places before!

Not sure if anyones got em fitted

The Cupra bushes are very effective and also cheap. I doubt the Whiteline's would be any better and they are considerably more expensive.

I wonder what sort of adjustment the eccentric design allows - despite two 4WAs, the inner shoulders of my front tyres still wear fastest, since the car was lowered (only by an inch). I have heard a bit more camber helps with the handling, but nevertheless I don't feel I'm getting my complete money's worth out of each set of tyres due to the uneven wear. :(

Then again, would this adjustability be any use without a set of adjustable rear bushes...???

Depends which way the bush allows camber adjustment. Good bet it's for more negative camber, which is exactly what you don't need.

I think the major effect of the adjustable Whiteline bushes would be on castor, in that they would allow the back end of the front wishbone to be adjusted in the vertical plane - so I can see the potential for adding around 0.5deg. positive caster there. That would improve traction and dynamic camber on cornering.

I don't think there is much chance of the static camber being changed because its the position of the front bush that largely sets the camber angle - you would need to fit eccentric bolts to the front bush, or try moving the console in a bit (somehow) to reduce the negative camber.

I have heard mention of adjustable top mounts for the Octy, but they're not compatible with the Fabia AIUI. But that's a matter for a different thread...

To be honest over the years I've played around with camber and caster adjustments on all sorts of cars (Golf GTI, Impreza, Supra etc etc) and I've been hard pushed to better the OEM settings for all-round drivability. On my Octavia II VRS I've fitted the Whiteline WALK (anti-lift kit) which many seem to rave about, but its not made a huge difference. Yes, the car's a little better, but not by amounts that some claim. I think there is a very strong 'placebo' effect with car mods - and the more you spend the stronger the effect!

I must say that the most bang-per-buck in terms of any mod is remapping - a lot of handling mods actually are not very good value for money, some do nothing at all (e.g. rear strut braces) and some actually make the car a lot worse!
