Sticking turbo vanes solved!!! :)

Featured Replies

I'm not sure how injector cleaner and sticky turbo vanes are linked, but I guess if it works it works :D  Perhaps having cleaner fuelling means able to use more power, and more power means some of the crap has been blown out the turbo.  It can be good to have a good thrashing every now and then,

the 110 is non PD, and iirc some of 90bhp had a VNT turbo. However as I suffer overboost issues now and then I'll try giving the car some redex like stuff.....

Yeah the ALH 90 bhp has variable vanes - such as mine :D

edit - I just noticed how old that post is :D

Probably right, but maybe if the detergent is over mixed, some mightn't burn off, carry through the turbo, break down the gunk in the impeller, and blow it out through the exhaust?

Put it you this way, ive not added anything to my fuel in the nearly 3yrs ive had mine, but i may do a good quality flush out...

I have the turbo 2ltr and have loss of power roundabout 3 gear push my foot down nothing lift my foot off and press again and it is ok ? till the next time ??

can anyone help cheers martin ps it is a 2007 scout

Hi Martin,

Is that a Mk1 or mk 2 Octavia? if a mk2, id wager a look on that section will yield a similar thread and possible solutions, but -

is it: foot down - nothing - lift off - count to 2 - foot down - all good?

is it within a certain rev range that it happens? the lift off might be enough to drop the engine out of the problem spot and get it going again.

Would be worth getting it plugged in to check for faults, theres a thread with a list members with VCDS, find someone nearby, and private message them about meeting up for a diagnostic.

Hey guys,

I know I am a little late to the show, but I was wondering if it would work on a 2007 VRS. I have limp mode when pressing on the gas for 10 seconds at 100kph and 6th gear.

I am pretty sure that I have a sticky vane issue and I am not really handy so I want to be able to solve it internally (chemically) rather than do the Mr. Muscle trick in the hot part of the turbo.

I have also tried Revive but no success so far. Please let me know if this product has any chance of damaging my car.

Thank you in advance
