2008 Octy Scout 2.0TDI - running hot??

Featured Replies

Hi, has anyone else noticed with a Scout (or not) that after a short journey, the car smells very hot (when parked in my garage) and it seems to "tick" with the heat for a while. Also have a 1.9TDI PD Fabia estate (06 plate) and it doesn't do it, nor does the Octy do it after longer journeys.

Is it something to do with the DPF?

I'm afraid I fall into the "numpty" category when it comes to techy stuff. I just like to drive 'em!

Not noticed it on mine, although it isn't garaged I do plenty of short journeys.

I have noticed on colder evenings all the local cats sleep under the engine bay when I return home from work rather than any of the neighbours cars!

I take it the temperature gauge is sitting in the middle as its supposed to?

With 180mm ground clearance, cats can very easily walk underneath a Scout without having to crouch down. :)
