Annoying 'bing'

Featured Replies

Driving home from work last night heard a 'bing' coming from the dash, thought it was the Temp warning but it wasn't, neither was it the petrol one .

Thought nothing more of it but tonight it happened again so i turnmed everything off, radio, aircon etc but it 'bing'ed again so i turned the boost controller right down and nothing for a few miles so i turned it up to half way and bloody bing again. :mad:

Any ideas, no warning lights on dash,car running fine :confused:

What was the temp outside? You sure it wasnt the ice warning.

Handbrake all the way off? Did it sound like the handbrake warning (if youve heard it?) Might be a loose h/brake switch.

Mine made a 'bing' the other night, but came up with a light on the dash. Was a brake light blown and the warning light came on. Could be something like that, but maybe the dash light doesn't work. :confused:

Three reasons I've heard bings in mine:

  • handbrake not fully released (but there would be an obvious warning light for this);
  • low on fuel (so annoying that it gives me an incentive not to let the gauge go into the red);
  • leaving the indicators on when stationary (the indicator switch turns on the side lights to act as parking lights).

Add to all of that a low washer bottle. However all of the above are occumpanied by a light when the engine is on.

Do all Fabias have the washer warning? Mine did run out on a long trip earlier this year. I would have topped it up sooner but I was expecting the warning.
