Confusing Fabia Models 1.2.3

Featured Replies

Hello Members,

Having just visited 'SKODA' sales site it seems worth mentioning that the latest models include Fabia Hatchbacks 1 - 2 - 3 with a 'Greenline' and Sport Hatchback.

http://www.skoda.co.uk/ourcars/fabia.aspx

Click-on 'Choose a Model that suits you' ---- then---- use slide-bar to see different model named Hatchbacks.

Bearing in mind some 'Briskoda' members have informed us there are old-shape models of Fabia Hatchbacks 1 - 2

In a few years when all these models have been around a while, how confusing it will be to pinpoint what model of Fabia is what ??

As to me there are two only basic body Hatchback designs albeit different levels of trim. Which is why the added VRS or Elegant name suggests, highlighting level of trim, fitted.

So from the year 2000 to 2006 the Fabia Hatchback 1 was in production, and from the year 2007 onwards it was the Fabia Hatchback 2.

Would it be argumentative to say to own a Fabia Hatchback VRS 1 and then fit a sunroof it becomes a Fabia Hatchback 2, and then fit mudflaps it then becomes a Fabia Hatchback 3. It all seems laughable in context but some may take it personally to which I unreservably without predjudice, apologize.

Thanks for your input if you so wish to desire.....

I believe the situation is as follows:

Fabia Mk1 was 2000-2006, and came in trim levels with names: Elegance etc.

Fabia Mk2 is the one in production now, It comes in trim levels with a number- 1, 2, 3

I *think* that's correct.

This has come up in discussion before, which is why the forums refer to fabia Mk1 or mk2

I think you've got a bit muddled up there.

As stated above it is only the new Fabia (MK2) that is labelled with "1", "2" and "3". These levels of trim have big differences such as a 1.2 HTP with level "1" trim is only available in the lower powered 6 valve 60 BHP whereas if you go to level "2" you get 12 valves and 70 BHP. Also things like alloy wheels and A/C are not standard equipment on the "1".

The older (MK1) Fabia was available in such trim levels as Ambiente, Elegance, Classic, vRS, vRS SE, Sport etc etc. Again they have pretty big differnces generally and standard equipment varies between them like alloy wheel, A/C, CD player etc as well as engine power output.

Follow this link to Wikipedia. They have all the info you should need on the trim levels and engines available etc on the MK1 although not any info on the MK2 trim levels, Just engines:

Not forgetting the Fabia Mk1 in Comfort Trim :)

Hehe. Thats what the "etc etc" was referring to smart ar**!

It's Skoda UKs fault for using stupid trim level names!

In europe they still use names like Classic, Ambiente, Elegance e.t.c.

Hehe. Thats what the "etc etc" was referring to smart ar**!

..................and don't forget the Silverline, a Classic trim with the small leather pack, including Leccy front windows.........:D.and Mr Smart Ar** to you sir

And the Blackline, Ambiente SE and the Bohemia!

Good job they didn't number all those:

"oh yes, I have a Fabia 9!" lol

out of curiosity but a bit off topic, the old MK1 trim levels, in what order did they go, in terms of what you received?

Hello Kablam,

The list is very long almost endless with each engine size / model variation.

Having one sized engine in a certain model then with optional extra's added, thus making it into a hybrid sort of thing.

Sorry to be no real help.

I'll hazard a guess at:

Classic

Comfort

Ambiente

Elegance
