Insurance - customer loyality my a**

Featured Replies

Why can you not get any customer loyality anymore? I've been with the same insurance company for the last 5 years, every year they have been cheaper so why change.

Renewal is due tomorrow on the fabia so I phoned up to pay it and find out the difference to change to the Octavia in December.

"Sorry sir we do not insure that vehicle due to the amount of accidents owners have"......so five years with you and over 9 years of no claim bonus mean what?

I mean I understand that if its a high risk then they should cover themselfs but honestly the fact that surely I've not had an accident would reduce the risk?

I'm not so much angry that I now have to sort out the insurance else where I'm ticked off that being a loyal customer for over 5 years means zero!

What company was this?

To make the glass half full its good news for 2nd hand parts market though I guess. ;)

Greenlight :rolleyes:

I got something similar with a company, but in fairness they did not charge me a cancellation fee.

It is an Octy VRS and if so which model?

You would have thought they would at least just quote you high rather than not at all.

FL Octavia vRS diesel. I even stated that its the diesel and they just said we dont insure any of the vRS's :(

Excellent, I'll make sure I avoid anything with that badge on for future insurance.

they're just an intermediary so if the people they deal with refuse to cover a car...it is odd though cos they'll cover a Cupra

its even more odd as they will re-insure the fabia vRS that is re-mapped :confused:

Seems a real duff company if you ask me.

Won,t insure an Octy vRS but will insure a Fabia vRS :confused:

The VRS has risen up the stolen list - especially aggravated from your home.

Most have taken to not want this group of clients. thing is their policys change day by day, so next week they may welcome you with open arms.

I've had this a few times - online quote a lot less than renewal - phone them up to get told "that's the price for new customers " - amazing how much the quote gets reduced when you tell them that you'll be someone else's new customer ,tomorrow . But then with a massive NCD and years on the clock - they reckon that they'll make megabucks on my policy -so they decide I'm a good bet . Oh ,it's nice to be old , with a low rated car , and lots of NCD and ooooodles of claim free years -oh ,and I do love twisting their arms to get a better deal:D:D:D

what is even more weird is the fabia (in standard form) is actually more to insure than the Octavia is with the likes of Admiral etc.................do they just make up magic figures?!?

Me thinks I will have another word with my current insurance co and see if they will change their mind.

Green light do state on their website that won't cover the following:

Excluded vehicles

* BMW E36 models - (E30/E46 derivatives are still acceptable)

* Citroen Saxo models

* Ford Sierra RS500 model

* Honda S2000, Integra DC2 & DC5 imports (UK DC2's are acceptable)

* Lotus Elise/Exige

* Nissan 200SX/Silvia models (All)

* Porsche (except Boxster)

* Renault Clio 172 “Cup” (non-ABS) model - (All other 172 derivatives are acceptable)

* Skoda Fabia/Octavia models

* TVR (all models)

* Vauxhall VX220 Turbo

* LHD vehicles (except Golf Rallye and Lancia Delta)

BUT, if they have insured you in the past, i'm surprised they won't continue the policy, even at a greater premuim.

What a crock of **** greenlight must be then if they won't insure fabia or octavia models - presumably that includes the base model variants too?!

I can understand the fabia vrs being excluded as it does have a habit of tipping over (even more so a remapped one as more likely to be pushed over the limits of the standard chassis) but the octavia is the most stable planted car I've ever owned.

Try elsewhere me thinks.....:thumbdwn:

Not aware that an Octavia VRS is a "hooligans car" that insurers won't touch. I am with ASDA and my insurance has remained static at around £500 (£50 a month) for the past 4 years I have had it. Mnd you I was fronting for years as a student and this is my first policy:rolleyes:

Porsche Boxter but not any Octavia... How odd...

I thought the Clio 172 Cup had ABS as standard :confused:

Perhaps statistically they claim less?

The renewal I get every year is simply a reminder to hit the comparison websites and phone around. you're nuts if you take the price they offer you, they rely on your laziness.

I've been with Esure for about 4 years. Every year the renewal is up about £100 and every year I knock them down about £120.

The worst lot were Endsleigh, they refused to ensure the car after I moved house (about 100yds). Their postcode database wasn't complete but it took them a month to admit it but not before threatening all sorts of charges, they wouldn't insure me but would release me from the deal without a fine. Ended up with a personal apology from their head of legal.
