Hi All,

Does anyone happen to know if the later model Favorits used the same spline as VW's of the time for fixing the steering wheel? as I was just wondering if any of the 80's/90's VW steering wheels would fit them, after all the road wheels are interchangeable!

What got me thinking was the later Felicia airbag steering wheels are exactly the same as the VW ones at the time, only difference bieng the badge.

My Mechanic has a steering wheel from a Golf mk2 which i'm hoping to poach for my Fav, it needs the horn cover thing though.

So are you sure the Mk2 golf wheel will fit then? :confused:

Does the same apply to earlier Fellys?

eg, if i bought an aftermarket steering wheel with a boss for say, a mk3 Polo, would it fit my (N-reg) Felicia?

To be honest I have no idea

You might be able to swap the fav steering column for a early felicia one. You would ideally need one of the shear off nuts for the lock to swap the ignition lock over. Only thing I know for certain is the manual steering rack on the Felicia is the same as the Favorit. I suspect the mounting points are in the same places as the Felicia is based on the Fav chassis.

I'm sure you're right about swapping the steering columb, but I really can't be bothered if thats what's needed, and do we know that the early Felicia had a VW spline? Just want clarification on weather or not any VW wheels will fit the existing Fav. splines, if they don't I'll stick with the existing wheel !

I have a noise coming from the steering box its not damaged just irritating, iv checked out the haynes maual and it appears to be coming from the worn pinion bearings dose anyone know where I could get these?
