Its def worth buying all new top mounts and doing these at the same time as you will only have to do them later, if they are the original ones on the car then they will likely to be well used and the stiffer suspension will just speed up their demise.

Hmmm... I don't think the bloke in Germany replaced the topmounts on Simons car when he had the Weitecs fitted  And it makes some odd noises (which I thought was the front ARB needing replacing)... you'll have to pop round and compare them to yours, I'm not filled with confidence that they've been fitted right!!!

We are doing free postage on these too ;)

For next time LOL

Sarah

ah sorry sarah when i phoned after lunch the guy i spoke to said it was 10 quid for postage

:sorry:

Ah , well you need to speak to me ;)

We should be charging for them , but we do price match too

I am sorry

next time you call , ask for me

I am a tight Yorkshire lass , but I dont like being beaten either

Never mind , give me a call next time

Sarah

well im scottish and the thought of saving a tenner made me ecstatic

yeah should have asked for yourself

well im after some powerflex bushes soon so i will give you a call for sure

Yes , give me a call , I will see what I can do

But I believe that we are THE cheapest for them

(now I wait to be corrrected)

Sarah

Lol ok will do for sure

what top mounts have people been using when fitting coilovers

standard or uprated?

and if it was uprated where did you get them

thanks again

stew

cheers bodge spent ages looking for uprated ones and couldnt find anything lol

I used standard new oe topmounts all round. IF you uprate everything you may find the ride is a little uncomfortable. The venom ones allow for extra lowering iirc (not that you really need that), you can also get solid mounts on ebay or from motorsport suppliers like these Performance, Race, Rally VW Golf MK4 Alloy Top Mount on eBay (end time 19-Nov-09 16:13:09 GMT) though again for road use may be overkill.

If you are uprating other bushes at the same time which i think you are? like wishbones etc then look at superpro rather than powerflex as they seem work better in my experience.

Yeah just had a look at the supersport ones and the drop a futher 10 mm which im not that keen on tbh think 30 on the front should be plenty

will have a look at the superpro then

and my blueflame turned up today so cant wait to get home and have a look :D

there is uprated ones that are said to be good. Ill be getting a set in the new year as spent all my budget for this year

You are going for it getting all these bits:thumbup:

I got my superpro bushes from pir racing, great service and got them next day!

well i dont really want to fit the coilovers and 2 months down the line have to replace the top mount and bushes

might just stick with getting oe top mounts but get sopme poly bushed for the ream beam and wishbones, may as well while im at it

next ring trip is going to be fun haha:D:D:D

I'm off to the ring again in May. Can't wait!

I'm hoping I won't ground myself hitting the Karussell at 1000000mph now that the car's lowered! I guess if hardcore race cars slammed to the deck can take it then the turbo-taxi will be OK!!

Might get a taxi light thing on the roof......

Back on topic! I'd stick with OE top mounts and bearings, as they're tried and tested.

also going in may !

cant bloody wait

got a guy at work who does car decals so gonna get some unoffical ring taxi ones made up lolthe first time i went i got a passenger lap in a lamborghini gallardo se, he grounded out at the karussell then said its ok i have kevlar sump gaurd and started laughing

Anyone tried these on the Octavia, heard very good reports about them on the Golf

Compbrake Topmount Pair - VW GOLF4

was looking at balance for them thats where i bought my rear arb

think im gonna stick with oe top mounts

Stew, you def want to do the top mounts at this stage as you will have to do them at some point shorty after if you dont as the coilover are firmer and will find the weakest link (old top mounts).

Def worth doing the other bushes too, there is some cupra r/tt ones you can use too, think we have posted about this before, have a search.

I really need to get myself over there as my suspension will have been sorted by then with tt hubs and tt front end so i can finally put it all to the test!

yeah will have a search tonight when i get home

you got to go, i only did 2 laps in july but damn it was fun i was so happy just to go and my pace and make sure i finished without wrecking my car, second lap i did with 5 people in the car and glazed my pads lol

sure was a hoot
