VRS Servicing/ oil change.

Featured Replies

Having recently bought my brothers VRS SE, and it soon to be taken in for a service i was just wondering should the oil still be black in colour after a 10 mile drive? Every time he had taken it in for a service previously and having drove it home the oil still used to appear dirty in colour suggesting it hadnt been changed. He asked the dealer about this and they said most diesels oil turn black pritty much straight after they have been started, which i didnt believe. so i was just wondering if i should say anything to them when i take it in for its service being its new owner!

Cheers!

Nope its perfectly normal that the oil changes colour very quickly on TDi,s.Nothing to worry about

Black oil in a diesel engine is perfectly normal.Worry not.

Agreed, mine was black after just a 3 mile drive.

Yep! agree with fellow members.

Mine almost instantly turns black, but confident fresh new oil with new filter fitted, as jobs completed myself.
