Octavia II service

Featured Replies

Hi

I have recently serviced my '05 Octavia II, I changed the oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter, is there anything else I should have done? the car has covered just over 80k.

Thanks

Cambelt should be changed at 80K on diesels or 110K on petrol models.

Brake fluid?

Brake fluid and coolant after 2 years, also A/C pollen filter before every summer I suggest.Brake fluid absorbs moisture and lessen the boiling point of the fluid with water mixed and coolant's anti freeze is highly corrosive....Check other fluids as well + battery terminals, and brake pad condition, whilst wheels are out check tyre inner sidewall and for any abnormal wear on the threads, check also CV joint bellows for any splits.

Doesn't it say in the service book what needs doing & when? What about resetting the service indicator / countdown doofas... think that needs doing with VCDS? :o

Only if you want to use variable servicing, you can reset it using the stalk but you'll be switched to fixed servicing.

Cambelt should be changed at 80K on diesels or 110K on petrol models.

I thought it was 60,000mile or every 4 years, whichever comes first?
