Track Rods Rusted

Featured Replies

I was going to get my local tyre fitter to track my car today but he had a look at it and said that the track rods where rusted and need to be heated to loosen them.

Would I be better replacing them and if so how much will they cost and are they hard to fit.

If he needs to heat them to adjust them, you ll also need to heat them to remove them:thumbup:

Had mine replaced a couple of weeks back due to corroded threads - cost about £100 for both fitted inc the tracking it went in for in the first place- I would have done it but didn't have the time

Had to have one of mine replaced to get the tracking done after I changed the wishbone bushes.

Wasn't expensive - but the fools fitted the wrong side one first time (passenger side fitted to drivers side upside-down) and the wheel rubbed on the arch liner when I went to drive off!!
