I just splashed out nearly 26 quid for a rear wiper arm assembly c/w low profile blade and end cap thingy for an imaginary 07 plate polo as an 8th anniversary gift for Mrs Grr.

(She's sooooo lucky to have me... I know..) . I've taken a gamble here but I'm sure it will fit Mrs Grrs SDI. She has been complaining of unbearable juddering sound from the stock arm. I've already bought replacement blade for that one direct from skoda and it hasn't cured it. I'm sure I've read on here somewhwere that that type of arm fits the Fabia so for me it was the logical next step. Can anyone confirm that this will fit her car and that I am a sucky boyfriend for buying her such a pants gift :D:D

It should do, but I think something might need trimming?

With the stock blade, have you tried putting it on the other way round? I know on my estate, that cured the juddering, took about 20 seconds and is so much better for it!

Thanks for pointing me at it... The especially useful bit was the belt sander bit.

Parts should be in Tuesday so I can crack on with fitting it next weekend.

I've got a mate with a joiners shop so I can access a belt sander easily enough.

Fitted the arm and blade to Mrs Grrs SDI today. It took 10 mins from start to finish. I think it looks loads better than the standard part. I used a tiny squirt of WD40 before I attempted to undo the nut and remove the old arm. The new one is virtually silent in operation compared to before with a nice squeaky clean wipe.

I sanded the cap down with an orbital sander and a bit of judgement and got a nice clean finish. You'd never know it wasn't manufactured that way.

I'm a little envious and will be off to VW soon to order another for my VRS.

A fairly easy and fairly cheap mod that de-clutters the rear of the car a bit.

With the added benefit of an improved rear wiper action.

I already have bosch retro fit aero wipers on the front of my Vrs and this mod would update the rear of mine in keeping with the front.

Well worth the money and effort. :thumbup:
