smokey & the vrs

Featured Replies

hi there,

I'm a bit new round these parts & I also new to driving a diesel or I may b paranoid but when I was driving my new (04) fabia vrs back from the dealer today I noticed there was quite A LOT of blue white smoke coming from the exhuast in 3rd & 4th around 1500-2000rpm

It may b my driving as my last car was a 1 liter polo that i really had to rag to get anything out of it & I'm not yet used to driving a diesel.

Any help would b appreciated as the dealer is closed til monday:mad:

Many thanks in advance!!! :D

p.s i did a search but not much came up please forgive me i am noob.

Hi Pieman,

had my fabia vrs for just a month is my first diesel too, previous car was a clio 182 so totally different drive.

You will get smoke out of exhaust, not sure about blue white smoke though, I'm sure somebody else will know abit more than me on that.

Just make you don't plant your foot too much before you get to 2000rpm, you'll ruin the clutch and turbo amongst other things.

Good luck with it:thumbup:

Welcome

Don't worry, It's a diesel it'll smoke heavier than a Beagle

Though you'll have to adapt your driving style! Too much boot, Too low in the rev range

Try not to floor it below 2000rpm. This will prolong the life of the DMF

Check out this for a smokey vRS

just remember, the more smoke the more poke,if you think yours is bad get a look at some of the re mapped/hybrid boys smokescreen:D

Haha, smoke is nothing. Some people have seen my tail end

Many thanks for quick replies,

I was starting to get worried there for a second or two.

Have been practicing diving like a mini cabber mainly because my girlfriend get's scared when the torque kick's in! haha  & I have also now read the manual which states 'Do not drive longer than the length of the vehicle in 1st gear'
