octavia vrs overheating problem

Featured Replies

firstly thanks for all replys i got on above issue.

have now got to the bottom of it, it wasnt the thermostat, it was the plastic impellor on my water pump that had disintergrated, surely a manufacturing fault. have now changed it for the metal type impellor.

have stripped the car down myself to do this work no major problems apart from trying to remove the upper engine mount (what a carry on) rebuild it today sunday.

cheers:thumbup:

Glad you have sorted the problem! hope all goes well with putting it all back together!:) i have heard that the engine mount is a bit of a pig to work with,a friend did a audi TT last week & he said the same!

Hope you are now sat on the sofa watching TV with a beer after the car is all done

Glad you got to the bottom of it too

well guys car all built up but another problem seems to have arisen. started first time but have a intermittent misfire. timing belt and tensioner and idler renewed water pump and thermostat renewed.

ANY IDEAS??? RUNNING FINE B4 HAND JUST OVERHEATING ABOVE 3000 REVS RUNS CLEAR

MISSED SOMETHING

Could it be that the timing belt not in right place?

Or coil pack?

Maybe worth a diagnostic check

Sarah

If the car was fine before you did the timing belt i would double check the timing marks & the belt tension,a diagnostic check may reveal a timing problem which would point to a problem with the belt timing,i would also check any electrical connections in the area you were working in & check all pipework in the same area. hope you get it sorted ok.
