One month and 1500 miles into ownership.......

.......and I love this car. It is comfortable, practical and spacious, and it averages 54mpg according to the computer. I think it looks the dog's in anthracite and I love the glass roof. The engine produces masses of power/torque and is now a lot quieter than it was when I collected the car. I am struggling to find fault with the car and my only gripe is that I would have liked the rear-view mirror positioned at the very top of the windscreen.

At 1500 miles, my old Schitroen Berlingo had already destroyed the alternator and brake lights switch, and the front door seals had parted company with the bodywork. The driver's seat cushion had started to disintegrate, the clutch juddered ("They are all like that, Sir") and the gearlever felt like I was pushing a pogo stick through a bucket of bolts. I wish I had traded it in years ago.

I would like to say a big "Thank you" to Briskodians for encouraging me to buy Skoda above other makes and for helping me to choose the model and options best suited to my needs (other threads).

And Decron - I'll buy you a pint next time I'm in South Wales but sorry, the funds won't stretch to a bumper respray.
