Anybody had a 1.9 TDi PD100 engine remapped?

Featured Replies

I want to get my new Fabia revo'd but SWMBO is blocking it at the moment. The only thing that might convince her is if people have had genuine mpg increases. All the maps advertise extra power and better consumption but has anyone on here actually noticed the benefits of this?

Cheers.

Yeah - when I had my original pd100 mapped to about 145bhp, I saw reasonable economy increases under the same kind of driving. Reason being the extra torque means less fuel used to keep XX speed.

My PD105 pulled 151bhp at the wheels apparently on the Awesome GTI RR day before i had the map removed, it did the same mpg then as it does now on a stock map.

The quoted figure is a little skeptical as i dont think the stock injectors are capable of that power.

Opmitistic surely?

Push the engine hard enough and 150 is reasonable. The best my pd100 ever did was 154bhp but I was running a couple of other mods like filter & decatted exhaust.

The PD100 & 130 are very do able engines and very strong so a remap will give nice results and good MPG figures.

Take Jasons word for it

Thats what i thought matey, as it pushed out 160bhp at the flywheel and 262ft/lbs of torque according to there RR.

It was running a mixture of Shell V-Power with a double dose of Millers Diesel Sport 4 at the time though.

Not to mention it kept up with a mapped Mk4 Golf PD130 and a Mk5 Golf GT TDI.

But then again i was finding things were under more stress and prone to failing, it didn't half pull on the motorway once you got around to 65mph.

So i think it may have been somewhere close, but then again the gearbox could have been of a closer ratio/less gears to change.

I love PD100s and 130s. The PD100 is a very underrated engine and does map very well
