Totally agree. Speeded up footage?!

Whats the P for anyway ????? ( Project...Possum...Pomme killer...Er no.! ) and what happened to vRS..Now it RS

It's vRS in the UK only, RS everywhere else.

PS It's Pommie (as in Prisoner Of the Motherland), as Pomme is French for apple ;) unless of course, it's an Aussie RS - Apple Killer! :D

Yep mine is an RS not a vRS ;)

It's VRS in Italy, too.

Ciao!

Thanks but as above says " only vRS in UK " so now I am really confused.com Lol:confused:

That was probably one oe the most annoying videos ever. What was the point in all the sped-up footage!

Still... car looks very noise and sounds even better!

Phil

How the irish dealer's brochure is worded on the front:

I think (but don't quote me) it's to do with legal issues of other manufacturers owning the RS moniker (Ford??) and objecting to it being sold in the UK [and it would appear Italy too!] as the Octavia RS. So, it's vRS here.

Skoda's line on this is it's "V for Victory!" but probably more likely it's V for Very-expensive-to-run-a-legal-battle-on-this-but-easier-and-cheaper-to-just-change-the-badge ;)

P=Porngraphy! that was a very sexy beast, agree with the video, rubbish!

The V was never a V, only a stripe that is V-Shaped.....I was initially wondering why the RS ist called V-RS in the UK and only found out some days ago why this is. Here in Germany and in the Netherlands at least it was always called RS only....

Here, for example, the german homepage also calls it RS: http://www.skoda.de/index.php?e=1-24-6

I had heard the 'V' was in relation to the 'Victory' in a court case over the rights to use the RS logo. As I understand Ford took Skoda to court regarding their illegal use of the brand, but lost the case as Skoda had used the RS badging many moons ago in motorsport, please, correct me if I'm wrong though!

Might be....although in Germany sporting Fords are also called RS, so IF they made a complaint they surely would have done so here as well....
