Display car info on climate display?

Featured Replies

Yes, the item is indeed correct, the climatronic can display all this info. Dont buy it though because a quick search of the article section will get you the same or simillar document. Best of all its free and will cost you nothing.

Thanks for that, will go and have a play.

Bear in mind it does not show the "exact" speed. Denis did some tests and found it to be more accurate than the analogue dial speedo, but still not true. If you change tyres / alloys, may also have an effect.

If you fancy an entertaining read, see this thread :D

We have had loads of discussion about these codes and have spent ages trying to get decodes for them, but at the end of the day (to use a phrase I detest) I don't think that anyone has gained anything useful from them apart from the speed readout. :(

I tried it today for the first time and the "climate" speed was exactly 10% less than the speedo.

Do anyone know how accurate this speed is?

According to my "stopwatch and mile marker" calculations , the true speed is exactly in between the two

If they are both out, then would this mean that the mileage reading is also out?

Not in my case. Climatronic speed readout is more accurate than speedo - but is still not correct. Mileometer inaccuracy is less than 1% compared with GPS.

Using my Road angel (Gps) I get about a 10% difference between that and the Octy speedo i.e speedo = 70mph - Road Angel = 63mph.

Meaning that the climate readout speed is more accurate then?

From feedback from members, it would appear that it is less inaccurate than the speedo. But it isn't accurate. I also found that the location of the Climatronic makes that speed readout feature hazardous to use when driving. On the other hand having a GPS speed readout directly in front of your eyes is akin to a head-up display and can be very useful.
