New Owners Manual, 11.09

Featured Replies

Skoda have released an updated owners manual, dated 11.09 (old one 05.09). appears now to include all engines.

There also appears to be some additional/changes to information previously published, such as tow limits and CO2 (reflect 2nd generation CR engine, thanks JonA) and bizarrely snow chain info, although that bit I cannot make sense of.

Thanks Plumber, the fuel consumption figures now some sense:

On Highway cycle, all the diesel engines in 4WD are now equal - logical. In the urban cycle, the 103 kW is more economical than either the 125 and the 81 kW, but differences are small - <0.4 l/100 km:.2WD 81 kW uses around 10% less that 4WD.

Conclude: For 4WD, pick your engine on price and desired performance, the fuel consumption differences are minimal.

One curiosity: the fuel consumption for the Yeti with 125 kW diesel is lower than the Octy and Superb with the same engine. It must be a measurement freak on the dyno test, which does not take air resistance into consideration. As the Yeti both has a higher cv than either of the other two AND a larger frontal area, it ought to be the other way around.

I have not been able to find the EU 99/100 directive for the testing procedure, so if anybody knows where to find this, I would appreciate a tip.

Could be down to different gear ratios.
